I went wedding dress shopping the day after my engagement party in Atlanta. I had been engaged for about one month. At the time, I had no idea that I was pregnant. The only people who came with me were my mom, my sister, and Jay鈥檚 mom.
It was very intimate, very special, and very fast! Y鈥檃ll won鈥檛 believe me when I tell you that I picked the very first dress that I tried on! I had an appointment at another bridal salon, but I canceled it after I picked my dress.
Picking out my dress was such a God thing. For the couple of years leading up to my engagement, I thought I would for sure pick a form-fitting dress. However, when I was trying on the dresses (not knowing my belly would be a little bigger by the time the wedding rolled around), I was gravitated to the A-line dresses. This ended up being the perfect decision for hiding my tiny bump on our wedding day.
Below are two other dresses that I tried on, followed by the one that I ended up picking.
My dress wasn鈥檛 under $1,000, but it was still relatively inexpensive. Plus, the salon where I bought it had a deal where if you bought it on the same day that you tried it on, they give it to you for 10% off.
Wedding dresses can get extremely pricey. If you are already on a tight wedding budget, you鈥檙e going to want to cut costs anywhere you can. I am making this list to show you that you don鈥檛 have to break the bank to wear a stunning wedding dress.
FLYNN WHITE LACE MAXI DRESS
You could have told me this was a $4,000 wedding dress, and I would have believed you. This one is just so beautiful and timeless. No crazy trends going on here. The lace detailing is just stunning. AND it鈥檚 only $100 (the least expensive dress on the list by far)! https://www.lulus.com/products/flynn-white-lace-maxi-dress/542482.html
Monro Gown
This dress is giving me major 90s vibes, and I鈥檓 not mad about it. This would be perfect for a ballroom venue. It is so sleek, yet so formal. I absolutely love the pearl belt. This one is $649. https://www.revolve.com/bronx-and-banco-monro-gown/dp/BROR-WD96/?d=Womens&page=1&lc=18&weddingShop=true&itrownum=9&itcurrpage=1&itview=01
Reagan Gown
This one actually reminds me a lot of my wedding dress (although mine was a lot more ballgown-y). I love the whimsical feel this dress have. It reminds me of a little fairytale, which is exactly what you want your wedding to be, right? This dress just barely made the cut at $975. https://www.bhldn.com/shop-the-bride-wedding-dresses/reagan-gown/productoptionids/fbcaeb8b-b90b-4e9a-9313-32da085940dd
Bronx & Banco Emily exclusive embellished bridal gown
Colored wedding dresses are becoming more and more popular. I鈥檓 loving all of the very light blue, pink, and purple wedding dresses that I鈥檝e been seeing. Not sure if I could have done it for my own wedding, but I really appreciate the super stylish people who can pull it off. This dress is $515. https://us.asos.com/bronx-and-banco/bronx-banco-emily-exclusive-embellished-bridal-gown/prd/11304575?clr=blush&SearchQuery=&cid=8799&gridcolumn=3&gridrow=5&gridsize=4&pge=1&pgesize=72&totalstyles=29
Ester Halter Mermaid Gown
If I was even just 10% cooler than I am (and didn鈥檛 have a little baby bump), I would have worn a dress like this. This is a showstopper wedding dress. In my opinion, your wedding day is when you should wear the most amazing dress you鈥檒l ever wear in your life. This is one of those once in a lifetime dresses. It also just barely made the list at $990. https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/bronx-and-banco-ester-halter-mermaid-gown/4936844?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FThe%20Wedding%20Suite%2FWedding%20Dresses&color=white
